RAPID Progress File

The RAPID Progress File (http://rapid.lboro.ac.uk) is a web-based Personal Development Planning (PDP) tool. RAPID enables the registered user to:

  • record achievement
  • create a personal portfolio
  • generate a CV
  • audit skill competence
  • develop skills and personal attributes
  • document evidence of competence

To date, in the region of 8000 students across a range of HEIs have begun to use the RAPID Progress File in a variety of contexts.

There are currently 15 versions of RAPID. These include:

  • A generic version of RAPID (RAPID Express) that is offered to all academic departments across the University (Loughborough) to help support PDP.
  • An Engineering version of RAPID (RAPID Engineering) based on the Engineering Council UK's UK-SPEC.
  • A version appropriate for post graduate researchers (RAPID PGR) developed as part of a joint enterprise involving the Universities of Loughborough and Birmingham.
  • 12 discipline specific versions (including Civil Engineering, Information Sciences, and Mathematics).

The RAPID software is available at no direct charge to all UK-based HEIs under a licensing arrangement.
